PITAKA was founded on a simple idea:
To simplify and improve our lives by developing products
that work alongside each other and work together seamlessly in everyday life,
taking into account our coexistence with animals and our relationship with
landscapes and the Earth.
PitaCare is more than a mission. It is a journey of
sustainability. Its goal is to protect and care for what is most important to
us: the world and the people in it. At PITAKA, we care about people, their
feelings and their daily lives. That is why we make products that people can
enjoy and use to make life easier. But in the long term, that is not enough. We
share a common home, the Earth. And it is facing serious environmental
problems. To protect our planet, PITAKA has decided to produce less waste and
leave a smaller footprint for a better world.
Since 2019, PITAKA has been using paper instead of EVA foam
for packaging. By 2021, EVA foam packaging will be completely eliminated, and
in 2022, we're taking another big step forward by making our iPhone 14 cases
from 100% biodegradable materials, the majority of which are bagasse. Bagasse
is an eco-friendly material that produces no wastewater and doesn't require
printing inks or plastics. For every 400 packages made from sugar mill bagasse,
we save a 40-year-old tree that doesn't have to be cut down to make paper.
In short, we will continue to focus on our customers' needs
and design our products from the perspective of people's lives, taking
inspiration from real-world scenarios while minimizing waste. This way, we can
recycle larger products, reuse the materials and transform them into smaller
products. The goal is to create a universe of unmatched zero-waste lifestyles.
So if we recycle a carbon fiber suitcase, we can extract the
fibers and make laptop/tablet cases; if we recycle the laptop/tablet cases, we
can turn them into new phone cases; and phone cases into cases for the
smartwatch or other smaller items. To make reproduction as efficient as
possible, we design our products largely as modules.
PITAKA is currently setting up its first laboratory for
research into sustainable materials. It is currently in the early stages of
development, but our hardworking engineers have already managed to separate the
resins from the fibers. We will gradually implement this new technology
throughout our production so that we can preserve and reuse the fibers. In
addition, we have plans to develop products made from bio-based fibers as an
alternative to petroleum-based ones. We are constantly researching. Every year
our technology and our approach evolve. All these technological advances are
part of our plan and milestones that we will announce in the near future.
Since 2016, we have been designing our products based on
ecosystems. Our first magnetic system to market included an aramid phone case
with magnetic plates, a magnetic car mount, a wall mount and a magnetic power
bank. We called it the "Mag" system, which eventually became the
"MagEZ" system. To our knowledge, it was the world's first magnetic
system for accessories. To date, our aramid fiber phone case is the slimmest
phone case with embedded magnets. Then we introduced a system of magnetic case,
stand, folio, etc. for tablets: PitaFlow for Tablets. Next, a new system based
on AirTag: PitaTag Series
